Laser for Veins, Rosacea, Scars & Birthmarks

The Pulsed Dye Laser (V-Beam) delivers intense but gentle pulses of light into selectively targeted areas of the skin. This laser is used to lighten or remove unwanted or abnormal blood vessels in the skin. Facial veins, broken blood vessels, acne scars, red bumps, red birthmarks and generalized facial redness caused by rosacea can all be treated using Vbeam laser treatments with favorable results. The results of laser therapy vary on the condition that is being treated and the number of treatments required for clearance. An equally effective laser is the IPL (Intense Pulse Light Treatment).

Procedure:

Some patients feel a warm snapping sensation during the treatment. During treatment a cooling mist is sprayed minimize discomfort and reduce redness. Protective eyewear will be worn during the laser treatment. The laser is calibrated and parameters are set based on individual conditions being treated.

Post-Op Care Instructions:

Avoid sun exposure and use a sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher.
Avoid exercise for approximately 24 hours after procedure.
Tylenol® and ice packs may be used for swelling, bruising or discomfort.

Side effects:

Often no downtime, depending on the condition being treated. Some patients may experience mild swelling and redness. Occasionally bruising may occur often disappears in three to five days.
Although rare there is an inherent risk of unexpected reactions and burns.
