 How Does It Work?

Restylane works immediately by replacing lost volume to smooth away wrinkles. A clear gel formulation of hyaluronic acid, Restylane is specially formulated to act like your body’s own hyaluronic acid. By replenishing nature’s supply of hyaluronic acid, Restylane revitalizes and plumps up the skin, instantly diminishing the appearance of lines and giving a softer look.

 Does It Hurt?

Limited to mild discomfort. Ice or a local anesthetic cream can be used to minimize any discomfort.

 Is It Safe?

A safe and effective cosmetic dermal filler used by dermatologists and plastic surgeons since 1996, Some common injection-related reactions might occur after a Restylane injection; they typically resolve spontaneously within one or two days after injection. These reactions include redness, swelling, tenderness, or bruising at the injection site. Although rare, red or swollen small bumps may occur. With lip enhancement, it is wise to choose your treatment time with care since your lips may become swollen and appear slightly uneven for one to two days. We recommend whenever possible avoiding any medications that can prolong bleeding; such as aspirin and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAIDs), St John’s wort or high doses of Vitamin E supplements for at least a week prior to treatment in order to reduce the risk of bruising and bleeding at the injection site. For the first 24 hours following treatment, you should avoid strenuous exercise, excessive sun or heat exposure, and consumption of alcoholic beverages in order to help minimize the risks of temporary redness, swelling, and/or itching at the treatment sites Treatment with injectable fillers ( i.e. Restylane, Juvederm, Collagen etc) near sites of recurrent cold sore (for example , lips) can cause another outbreak.

What to Expect Following Treatment

You can expect slight redness, swelling, pain, tenderness, or bruising following your Restylane treatment. This is the same as you might expect with any type of injection. However, the discomfort is temporary and generally disappears after a few days. With lip enhancement, it is wise to choose your treatment time with care since your lips may become swollen and appear slightly uneven for one to two days.

How long does it last?

Treatments are typically scheduled twice a year, as Restylane’s effects generally last for about six months. Touch-up treatments before the product is fully dissipated may enhance the lasting effect.
